I always laugh when the advertisements say "100% free". It's technically true, but it's extremely difficult nowadays to get far in the game without spending some real money yo get mesos or level up.

My definition of a newb: A new player who poses too many problems and cannot figure things by him or herself. Like "WHERE DO I BUYZ THEM POTIONZ???!?!?!?!" before even looking at any of the npc's.
My definition of a noob: A less experienced player than I am who poses an annoyance as well as an extremely unlovable attitude during gameplay; usually one who KSes (doesn't really apply in DFO though), one who steals extremely rare drops (mostly doesn't apply to DFO but soemtimes yes), one who tries to make neverending excuses for their loss, one who would not admit themselves to be one with a lower experience, level, and skill.

I use newbie if it's well.. a newbie, though i usually say "he's new to this game" instead of "he's a newbie."
Beginner could seem insulting if that person isn't really a beginner and just sucks at whatever he or she does
