    Balance issues? Empty Balance issues?

Post by Konishi 21/8/2009, 5:57 pm

Ok, so far I know that summoners are junk to have right now, and gunners are
    dominating.
Now if Nexon does indeed patch those issues, then I wonder what about how they earn money.
As with most game companies, they won't offer anything totally free, so I'm sure
Nexon is going to have some sort of a cash shop. If that's the case
do you guys believe cashers are going to dominate the game? Or are
cash items simply just for grind help and looks?

Hmm, as far as I saw.. most of the cash shop items help you in dungeon crawling, and better your looks..

But, I do believe they will have avatars (I think) which basically change the look of your characters (clothes/accessories/etc) and may also add stats,,, but considering you can buy some with in game cash, i don't think there should be a problem with cash item buyers dominating.

That's nice, often cash shop games have a dominating casher community.

I'll be one of those cash users....but I won't use the gunner classes yet....

I'll be sure to inform you guys if the cash shop gives any unfair advantages. ;D

    cash shop avatars give bonuses

like move speed, attack speed, cast speed, etc

luckily, you can buy avatars off of other people

sadly, they're pretty expensive when bought with gold.

The cash items do give some nice bonuses & stat boosts, and that will give buyers greater advantages than not buying anything, obviously.

I also heard from a self - made conversion from I think kDnF to DFO, I read that somebody thinks a whole outfit is like $25, but we'll have to wait & see.

*grin* That means I'm going to be rather behind in the game considering
I never use money for games (not allowed to) and that I'm a poor grinder.

well cash users are certainly going to have the advantage of not having to use ingame money to buy avatar-morphing items. that would save them quite a large sum of money, especially for classes that require more speed. Avatar items also give other bonuses so you'll be stronger, and it doesn't affect your normal equips. There's also some bonus EXP here and there but it's mostly 1.5x exp. Coins are certainly useful but people don't even use coins very often if they're smart, especially ranged or quick characters. there's an owl safe that allows you to deposit items during dungeons (later dungeons take hours to complete due to size and difficulty) so you can save the money from drops. They also get potions. That's about it. so ya probably they'll be at an advantage but it wont be anything like maplestory or mabinogi. 1.5x exp is basically useless, by the way, since it lasts for like 30 rooms or whatnot, doesnt effect exp at end.

Wohoo a new face around here. Anyway,
unless normal players grind a lot, I doubt they can match a casher
in sense of lving speed and general having superstrong items.

since you can buy everything from cash using in game money, only people who are crazy hardcore freaks who use up the fatigue of multiple accounts to gain money will be able to match them.

AKA. either 10 year olds or fail at lives Smile

nope. although there are advantages, don't forget that 90% of it depends on how you use your skills, and its not like your dmg is gonna increase by so much that you're doomed. noncashers have to worry about saving money for avatar equips, pots, and everything else. cashers just have to worry about whatever everything else is, so money is easy for them. of course its not THAT simple though, cashers still need either a lot of ingame money or TOO MUCH cash.

I know it's pretty much skill based, however battling people with
1.5x dmg and 2x more hp is still going to be incredibly nasty.

Don't know about the bonuses...they will be there but there might be a gacha system in DFO....

It will piss me off cause I'll have to spend money to get a random equip/item.

I might spend a few bucks on DnF seeing as nexon cash cards are easily purchasable at a nearby cvs. And since you can buy items permanent I don't see why not. But they have to make money somehow right? THe bonuses aren't THAT big but it will always be an advantage. You can still get some of those items from buying them from teh players who bought them with irl money though.

Ah, I can't wait to get a job next year to earn my money & feel more independent.

On topic: If there were a gacha system added to DFO, I would most likely not use it that much. I mean, if the tickets or tokens or whatever the things are used for it are pretty cheap, I can try it out every once in a while.

Yea, the complete avatars, do make a huge difference just from my own experience in Arad, they usually give large stat bonuses, but it does come down to skill in the end.

Grinding is also exceptionally easy, assuming you don't waste money on uselessness, the only time you'll really have to spend money, at least in the early meta game is for that one weapon that you mass upgrade and stick with for awhile.

Most avatar pieces only go for about 700-900k and while that is alot, gaining the money is easy, I made 100k in just getting to level 18, so no worry's by level 60 everyone will be equal anyways.
So saith your lord and savior, PapaSmurf.

nx wont come out right away i think, so get as much money as possible to buy it. and when it does come out it'll be over priced
